Christine Borries

Christine Borries helps clients in special situations. She advises on all aspects of German and international insolvency and restructuring laws, especially in connection with corporate and financial group restructurings and distressed M&A transactions. Christine is an experienced negotiator in (difficult) multi-party negotiations and regularly accompanies debtors as well as creditors and shareholders through in-and out-of-court restructurings (including in particular insolvency plan and debtor-in-possession proceedings). Her work often involves avoiding liability risks for parent or group companies and their management. She also helps clients to structure transactions and/or agreements in a way that insolvency related risks are excluded or at least mitigated. She is an expert on German claw-back actions and a specialist for insolvency litigation. Christine has published various law review articles and articles in German and English on topics of insolvency law. She is the co-author of one of the most renowned commentaries on the German law of voidable transactions.
